The role

We have an opening for a Project Manager within the CNAG Strategy Team. She/ he will support CNAG scientific strategy activities in a stimulating scientific environment, participating in the following tasks:

- Support CNAG principal investigators in the preparation of national and international competitive research proposals: definition of project goals, coordination of project partners, preparation of budget, support on proposal writing and submission.

- Manage the CNAG scientific publications and other scientific outputs. Maintain the databases and repositories for tracking and analysing scientific output.

- Support the preparation of reports for different stakeholders, as well as the preparation of dissemination materials and surveys for CNAG users.

- Support to the management of CNAG-CRG service provision activities: effective communication with CNAG-CRG users, counselling services on the most suitable choice of technology and experimental design, budgeting and tracking of sequencing projects.

- Direct interaction with the CNAG-CRG researchers and technical staff to keep abreast of new genomic applications and technologies.

 

About the team

The successful candidate will be integrated into the Strategy Coordination Team of the CNAG-CRG led by Dra Mònica Bayés. The team works in a stimulating scientific environment with state-of-the-art infrastructures, contributing to international breakthrough research projects in Genomics that will impact people’s quality of life. The team has a diversified job content at the interface of science, technology and management, offering continuous growth and support on a professional level.

 

Whom would we like to hire?

Professional experience

Must Have

- Good knowledge of the biomedical genomics field

- Proven ability to effectively interact with multiple stakeholders on interdisciplinary level and the ability to move between the scientific and managerial level

- Highly motivated and creative thinking individual, passionate about genomics

- Desirable but not required

Additional professional experience (postdoctoral training, service provision in a core facility, project management, etc.)

- Experience in next generation sequencing and/or data analysis

- Experience with supporting projects funded by the European Commission

- Education and Training

- PhD certificate

Languages

- Fluency in English

Technical skills

- Familiar with Open Science policy and bibliographic concepts and services such as Web of Science, SCOPUS and PubMed

Competences

- Excellent organisational, management, prioritising, communication and interpersonal skills.

- Excellent written communication skills

- Contract duration: Open-ended contract subject to a project duration (estimated 12/31/2024)

- Estimated annual gross salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scales
